Using TRANSIT
There are five steps you will complete in order to view your preliminary degree audit. Those five steps are as follows:
Step 1. Login/Create Account
The first step to using TRANSIT is to create an account. Your account will store all of the coursework and degree information you enter in the event that you are interrupted or need to come back another time.
To create an account, click on the "Step 1. Login/Create Account" menu item, and then click the "Get Started" link under "New User". You will be presented with an account creation form that asks for personal information, academic information, and login information for your account.
Choose a userid and password that will be easy for you to remember, but difficult for others to guess. In addition, provide a secret question and the answer to that question. These fields will be used in the event you cannot remember your userid or password, and will help us verify that you are you before resetting your password. Keep in mind that you must provide a valid email address, or you will be unable to retrieve a lost userid or password.
When finished, click "Submit". Upon successful creation of an account, you will be taken to Step 2.
Step 2. Enter Coursework
In order to view how the coursework you have completed at another institution will transfer to Iowa State University, you will need to enter the coursework in this form. Be sure to double-check the data after you have entered it to verify that it is accurate. Inaccurate coursework may incorrectly change your evaluation and preliminary degree audit results.
When adding a course, begin at the top and select the Country/State of the institution where you took the course. Next, choose the institution and the term/year that you took the course you are entering. Choose the department for the course that you are entering. Select the course, credit earned and the grade you received. When finished, click "Add Course".
When you are finished entering all of your courses you have taken at other institutions, click "Next" to enter any degrees you have received from other institutions.
Step 3. Enter Degrees
Degrees that you have received from other institutions can affect your preliminary degree audit and your classification at Iowa State University.
When adding a degree, begin at the top and select the Country/State of the institution where you received the degree. Next, choose the institution and the term/year that you received the degree, and the degree that you received. When finished, click "Add Degree".
Once you have added all of the degrees you have received from other institutions, click "Next" to view your evaluation.
Step 4. Transfer Evaluation
Your evaluation will show you how your courses transfer to Iowa State University. For more information, see the How to Read Your Evaluated Articulation Results help topic.
